If you find yourself completely unstable when turning and cutting, it's probably ACL. But not to worry: the surgery leaves a cool scar. :)

Hopefully it's just a partial tear, or maybe meniscus. That's outpatient surgery at most.

Symptoms sound a lot like what happened to my soccer playing Bud when he got knee-knocked. It hurt like hell and he couldn't put weight on it. For three weeks it lingered in different degrees of pain and he ended up hurting his other leg by overcompensating. He regrets avoiding physio.

go to the doc! today! american facilities do sound scary from all the complaining we do about them, but they're not really. we're conditioned to run to the dr at the first sign of anything, and you know you've done SOMETHING to your knee even if it's not fatal, so they definitely won't think you're silly for coming in. they'll want to check it out and maybe do a quick xray. the reassurance that you're OK will be worth it!

Oh no!! I'd say ice it for a day or two and then if there is no change go see a doctor. Well that would be the rational thing to do. But I am a huge worrier when it comes to my health, if it were that bad, I would just give in and run to a doctor.

But no matter what, we are so proud that you were so tough!
