Summer when you're 21 vs Summer when you're 11

As I headed towards the pool earlier today, the squeaking of hundreds of running shoes incited me to detour to check out what was going on in the varsity gym. Tonnes of pre-teens were sprinting around, running drills, passing and dribbling basketballs, high fiving, sweating, shooting, scoring, missing, and taking water breaks.

I thought to myself, "I've never gone to basketball camp," and after a pause though, "And I guess I never will."

And it suddenly hit me that my childhood is long gone.

It is weird how the moments you expect to feel like an adult, you don't. It is instead those random moments where it hits you.

I really don't know how I feel about those moments...

Sad but true. Except it's not reeeally too late...I have big plans for hockey and triathlon camps one of these days.

Weirdly... I went to basketball camp. And I was totally not athletic. But I think as an adult you just switch from going to camp to applying for grants. :-)

I never went to any kind of camp. I'm still bitter about it. Just kidding though.

Your only as old as you feel. I'll be 30 this year but I still feel like I'm 16.

I can relate to this...there are some things that you never did, but then you look and think that they might have been fun, but you are too old to do them now. Crazy!

Hey, why not? I think it would be awesome for you to show up at basketball camp with a bunch of kids half your age.

I am completely willing to organize and participate in basketball camp for grown ups. Sounds great!

When I was a kid, I sucked at Little League. I wish I could go back and play now, because I would kick some serious ass. No more left field for me..:-)

yeah... sometimes I wish I could back and be young and innocent again..but then again, if that happened, I wouldn't have the life I have right now
